Jake Quickenden could end up joining the cast of Hollyoaks.
Now he could be set for another - very different - TV appearance.
The Sun newspaper reports that Jake may well be the new star of Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.
"Jake is someone who the casting directors have had in mind for a while," a source spilled. “He was approached several years ago but there wasn’t really a suitable role at the time. Now there are opportunities for him to join and he’s very well liked.
“He has convinced people he’d be a great addition to the cast.”
Jake previously admitted he was eyeing up a move into the soaps - although it wasn't Hollyoaks that he was thinking about.
The singer was hopeful of moving from reality TV into acting, joining fellow DOI competitor Brooke Vincent on Coronation Street who currently plays Sophie Webster on the ITV soap.
“I would do it, I can act," Jake insisted. "I’ve had a year of acting lessons and it’s something I’m quite passionate about.
"Obviously I’m a fan of Sophie."
Speaking to The Sun, Jake added: “If I had a screen test for Corrie, I’d go in and see how I did and if I got it, happy days.”
Jake beat Brooke in the Dancing On Ice final earlier this month.
He's currently taking part in the show's live tour.
