Neighbours lawyer Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) will become embroiled in the Chris Pappas attack storyline as the show returns from its' season break next year. The lawyer will be caught in a difficult position when he learns that his colleagues may have been involved on the brutal attack on the Erinsborough teenager.
As previously reported, Chris, played by James Mason will be left for dead by a mystery assailant at the cliff-hanger season finale which will air soon in Australia. The mechanic's boss Lucas Fitzgerald (Scott Major) will initially suspect that homophobic customer Warren Burrell is behind the brutal attack.
However, in a twist, it soon transpires that the attack is in relation to the garage not being sold to make way for the new shopping centre development. After checking the CCTV footage, Lucas discovers that a man linked to Toadie's boss Peter Noonan was spotted around the garage at the time of the attack, TV Week have reported.
Despite Toadie's reassurances that the man no longer works for Peter, Lucas' suspicions are raised when he spots the man in question in Peter's office. Speaking to the magazine, Moloney said: ''Something has happened and Toadie's law firm is involved. But I don't want to say either way, because that will blow it out of the water."
''Toadie has gone to any lengths to get this development pushed through. People above him have been pushing him above and beyond what he thought he'd ever do. Chris is a lovely guy and Toadie's upset at possibly being found to be involved."
