Indie rock band William And The Tells are set to join the cast of Australian soap opera Neighbours for a one-month guest stint playing another band in a brand new plot involving regular character Andrew Robinson (Jordan Smith).
The four-piece group made up of brothers William and Peter Ewing alongside their friends Ben Callaghan and Sam Walsh will appear on screen next year playing fictional group Red Cotton who are involved in the Ramsay Street action after Andrew turns his hand to music management.
According to the official Channel 5 website for Neighbours, the group will appear on Australian screens from January next year with UK viewers seeing the group debut on their TV's a few weeks later. The group are set to showcase their own material as they perform at Charlie's, the fictional bar in the Australian soap.
The band's frontman William Ewing who is currently studying drama at the National Theatre in Melbourne said: ''It's a huge opportunity for a bunch of local boys. Being able to blend acting and music will be great fun, and I'm looking forward to meeting long-time hero Lou Carpenter."
The soap is the second in a number of weeks to announce the casting of a new band as C4 soap Hollyoaks are set to feature real-life band Daytona Lights as part of a forthcoming storyline.
