Sarah Jayne Dunn annouces her departure from C4 soap 'Hollyoaks'

Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn best known as Mandy Richardson has revealed that she is set to leave the soap later this year. The actress who first appeared as Mandy in September 1996 and returned to the soap for her current stint late last year will leave later this year after her one-year contract expires.

Mandy returned in November 2010 alongside bad boy Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) who is also set to leave the show later this year after signing a similar one-year contract late last year. Mandy's main storylines in her current stint have seen her return under pressure from gangster Warren, conning boss Cindy out of money and getting back together with old flame Tony.

Speaking to fans on Twitter, Dunn said: ''For those of you asking yes I have left Hollyoaks again & I'm now concentrating on exciting new projects.'' Although it's not yet known how Mandy or Warren will leave, fans have already began to speculate that she could be a potential victim of serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle).

Other characters making an exit this year are Duncan Button (Dean Aspen) and Lee Hunter (Alex Carter).
