Jamie Lomas will leave his role as Warren Fox on C4 soap Hollyoaks at the end of his current contract, it has been confirmed. The actor who reprised his role as gangster Warren last year will exit later this year as Lomas pursues new projects.
Jamie will film his final scenes as Warren in October and viewers will see his exit storyline play out on-screen in Winter. Speaking to New Magazine, Jamie revealed that the decision to leave was down to him saying: ''Last time I left, the recession hit and there wasn't much being made.''
He added: '' It's starting to pick up and I wanted to give it another crack of the whip. I want something completely different to Warren to show people I'm versatile." However, the actor has completely ruled out moving to America permanently insisting that his fiancée Coronation Street star Kym Marsh and his children will come first.
When asked if the show bosses would leave the door open for his character to return, Lomas replied: ''I would like to think they would. I'll have to wait and see." Jamie added: ''I've got my kids here. Moving out there permanently is out of the question. Yeah, I'd love to go out and do a pilot season because it's always been a dream of mine. Kym has been nothing but 100% behind me. That's the way a partnership is.''
Warren originally starred in the programme from 2006 until 2009 when he was seemingly killed off in a fire. However, after show bosses lured Jamie back to the show, it was revealed that the body found was that of a disgraced soldier and Warren returned to wreak havoc in the village.
