Carla Connor to visit sexual assault crisis clinic following brutal rape on ITV1 soap 'Coronation Street'?

Businesswoman Carla Connor will visit a sexual assault crisis clinic following her brutal rape at the hands of boyfriend Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel) on ITV1 soap Coronation Street, a report has claimed.

Carla who we previously revealed is set to be raped by her business partner and boyfriend Frank over his claims that she is cheating on him with friend Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) will visit the clinic to seek advice after the horrific experience which leaves her fighting for her life.

According to the Daily Star, Carla will be encouraged to undergo tests for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases as she seeks support following the brutal attack. According to the report, Carla is horrified to discover that she will have to undergo tests incase Frank was carrying a sexually transmitted disease.

A female doctor will apparently tell her: ''I know this is very difficult for you right now, Mrs Connor, but we have to talk about tests for HIV and hepatitis. We can also offer you emergency contraception." According to the report, Carla will face the attack on the eve of her nuptials to Frank when she calls off the wedding telling him she cannot marry him as she doesn't love him.

Meanwhile, a source for the soap has said: ''We've been meticulous in mirroring the exact conditions faced by real rape victims. We sought detailed advice from police and rape crisis workers." Other reports have claimed that Carla will attempt suicide following the traumatic experience. The scenes will air in September.
