Monday 8th August
The big day of the auction arrives, the finance to fund the purchase of the Community Garden is sorted, and Toadie vows to be there for Sonya. But nerves get the better of Sonya and despite her being the successful bidder; her excitement turns to something more unexpected, and unwelcome. Could she be pregnant? Tash is contemplating plastic surgery, when faced with her latest attention seeking action Michael’s resolve is sorely tested. Can he hold onto this new style of parenting?
Tuesday 9th August
Realising she has to have an answer, Sonya takes a pregnancy test, confirming her fears that she is indeed pregnant. Jade encourages her to take a second test just to be sure, Sonya’s thrown when it turns out to be negative and even more so when Toadie catches her with the tests. Forced to go to the hospital to confirm, the pair are respectful of each other’s feelings, but when Toadie gently points out how things have changed and the idea of a future together with a baby, Sonya is torn. When it turns out to be a false alarm, will Sonya ultimately change her stance on having more children? Sophie’s struggling with the guitar she has on loan but Kate’s position on not buying one until she’s proven her commitment to the instrument still stands. But, when a package arrives in the form of a brand new guitar and amp from a mysterious benefactor, Sophie chooses to lie to Kate in order to keep it. Lucas continues to use Michelle as a way of distracting himself from his inheritance. But when she discovers his secret, Michelle pushes him to open up. Exactly what he was trying to avoid.
Wednesday 10th August
Kate is shocked to discover Tash is planning plastic surgery and even more so when she learns Michael knows about it. She forges ahead with her plan to raise money for the nose job by selling a collection of her dads’ albums. Michael is gutted when he learns of what Tash has done, revealing that she sold the last gift her mother gave her father. Still trying to avoid her feelings for Kyle, Jade is forced into close proximity to him when they both catch a virus. Kyle asks her not to leave him alone with over-attentive Michelle but unable to bear it, Jade escapes to her room – only to have Kyle follow her. They share stories from their past and when Kyle finally falls asleep in her bed, Jade’s feelings run even deeper for him. Trying to put her pregnancy scare behind her, Sonya devotes herself to caring for sick Callum. When appreciative Callum calls her ‘Mum’ for the very first time, Sonya’s deeply moved and reconsiders her previous stance against having another baby. She shares her news with Toadie, who’s overjoyed and the pair agree to establish their careers first, then work towards having a baby in the future.
Thursday 11th August
Andrew’s backpacker business draws the attention of his neighbours, prompting Malcolm to try and get to the bottom of what’s going on. Summer lies to protect Andrew’s scheme but worries they’re taking too big a risk. Although Andrew shares her concerns, they’re too close to their goal to stop now. With the end in sight, an early return from Paul threatens to derail their plan and land the couple in hot water. Exhausted by Tash’s antics, Michael realises his plan to let her parent herself has failed. While Tash tries desperately to get his cherished records back, Michael finally admits defeat – their relationship is broken beyond repair. Out of options, he arranges to send her away to boarding school. Still trying to find a way to spend his inheritance, Lucas is prompted to consider buying a house. But the prospect of settling down somewhere for good is deeply confronting for him. Choosing freedom, he finds himself back at square one.
Friday 12th August
In an attempt to support Susan, Karl tries to distract her from her responsibility to Jim. But Susan makes it clear that’s not the kind of support she needs – she needs to be there for Jim, and needs her husband to accept that. Showing his understanding and commitment to Susan’s wishes, Karl invites Jim over for lunch, but things go awry when their trip to Peru is brought up. Andrew and Summer manage to kick out the backpackers and get the Robinson House looking clean just in time for Paul’s return. In a close call, sharp Paul sees signs of visitors and Andrew pretends he had a party while his dad was away. Just as Andrew thinks he’s gotten away with his grand scheme, Paul finds a van full of backpackers in Ramsay Street. Struggling to process Michael’s punishment, Tash can’t bring herself to admit she’s being shipped off to boarding school. But when Chris expresses his excitement about upcoming events, Tash is forced to admit her father’s sending her away.
