Bill Webster to return to ITV1 soap 'Coronation Street' despite being axed earlier this year!

Coronation Street character Bill Webster is set to return to the cobbles, just a few months after it was announced that he had been axed! The Corrie veteran, played by Peter Armitage will return next month along with his partner Pam Hobsworth (Kate Anthony).

Bill who is the father of Weatherfield mechanic Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) will return with some big news as he announces that he and Pam are going to get married. However, their nuptials are put in doubt when Pam refuses to be nice to his son Kevin due to the affair which her niece Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) had with Kevin.

According to The Mirror, trouble brews as Kevin and Pam clash over the affair as Pam still blames Kevin for the affair which concluded in Molly's son Jack being revealed as Kevin's son just as she breathed her last breath after being fatally injured in the tram crash.

However, Pam and Kevin's constant arguments have a serious effect on Bill who takes a heart attack, unable to cope with the stress caused by his loved ones constantly arguing. A source told the paper: ''Pam still blames Kevin for Molly's death after the 2010 tram crash and won't allow him anywhere near the wedding. The stress causes Bill to collapse." Armitage has played the role on and off since 1984.
