Australian soap Neighbours has been nominated in the ''Best TV Drama'' category at the Seoul International Drama Awards. The soap which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year has got the nod at this year's awards which celebrate drama series all over the world.
Neighbours which airs over here in the UK on C5 will go head to head with Brazil's Passione, Korea's Twinkle Twinkle, China's Three Kingdoms and Argentina's Left On The Shelf in the ''Best TV Drama'' category. Other shows nominated are Romania's In The Name Of Honour, Canada's Little Mosque 5 and fellow Australian drama series Dance Academy.
Speaking about the show's nod at the awards, executive producer for Neighbours Susan Bower joked: ''I suspect the Neighbours sense of community resonated with the judges or they really love Dr Karl's singing as much as the other characters do - a close call! Needless to say, we're very proud to be acknowledged on an international scale." The awards results will be revealed in August.
