Kat Moon set to face yet more misery on BBC soap 'Eastenders' later this summer

Kat and Alfie Moon are set to suffer yet more misery later this year after Kat suffers a miscarriage at the end of summer, it has been reported. The couple who were involved in the baby swap storyline which saw Ronnie Branning (Samantha Womack) switch their baby Tommy with her dead baby James will be shocked to discover that Kat is pregnant again.

The couple who own The Queen Vic have believed that Alfie is infertile so it's a shock to discover that she's pregnant again however they face heartbreak after Kat is rushed to hospital with a mystery illness and tragically loses her baby, the Daily Star Sunday reports.

A source said: ''The pregnancy takes Kat and Alfie (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) completely by surprise and neither of them know how they really feel about it," a source said. "Kat is understandably very nervous and anxious about having another baby.

''Her head is all over the place. But before she has a chance to get used to the idea she suffers a miscarriage. It is a cruel thing to happen to them after everything that they've already been through this year. And once again viewers will be in tears as they watch Kat come to terms with losing her baby,'' they continued.

A spokesperson for Eastenders: ''There is a little bit more heartache for Kat and Alfie as they try to rebuild their lives with Tommy."
