Eastenders character Zainab Masood (Nina Wadia) is to be wrongly accused of having an affair with her ex-husband and the father of her daughter-in-law Yusef Khan by Yusef's sister-in-law Shameem in a shocking twist this month.
The Albert Square resident is accused of being unfaithful after the nosy relative overhears Yusef telling Zainab that he wants to be with her at the mendhi ceremony for Afia and Tamwar. Shameem announces that the duo are having an affair to all the congregation leading Zainab's husband Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) to punch Yusef.
A source revealed: ''The whole day turns into a disaster. When Shameem sees Yusef and Zainab together, she automatically thinks they're having an affair. Everyone struggles to come to terms with what they have just heard. But not Masood. He sees red and punches Yusef.''
They added: ''[Yusef's girlfriend] Denise Fox (Diane Parish) is stunned by the news and confronts Zainab but she denies everything and flees the ceremony. Afia is devastated and demands answers from her dad Yusef. He assures her it is all lies before leaving to find Zainab. It's one hell of a fall-out.'' Viewers can see the whole drama air on Tuesday 21st June on BBC1.
