Move over Lee Ryan, another noughties popstar could be on their way to Albert Square.

S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens has revealed she's in talks to join the cast of EastEnders.

In a chat with The Sun newspaper this week, Rachel revealed: “There have been a few times where there have been talks about it over the years. You know what it’s like with things, it’s all about timing and all that kind of thing. But, yeah, there’s definitely been talk about it and it could happen.

“My mum will be beside herself if it happens.“That’s the thing about this business — amazing opportunities come along, so who knows?”

As well as a spell on the soap, Rachel has also teased a possible 20 year reunion of S Club 7.

"It was so fun when we did the reunion tour a few years ago, it was absolutely brilliant and it was so lovely to see everyone again," she recalled. “Nostalgia is a big thing to people and we really felt that. It was perfect for what we wanted to get out of it for the fans.

“The hardcore fans want a 20-year reunion and I could see that happening. It will be something we’ll have to talk about.”

For now, Rachel will be on our TV screens in the new series of Celebrity Masterchef on BBC One from this week.

Back again for a brand new series, Celebrity MasterChef invites stars from the world of sport, show business, music and drama to chop, slice and sizzle their way to the trophy.

Alongside Rachel on the line up are the likes of Comedian, actor and presenter Vic Reeves, Union J Popstar Jaymi Hensley, Actor Brian Bovell, TV presenter Angellica Bell, Double Olympic gold medallist Becky Adlington, TV personality and presenter Debbie McGee and Actor and presenter Tyger Drew-Honey.
