Has upcoming Corrie character Stella's dark secret revealed in the papers already?

MichelleNew Corrie character Stella is set to be revealed as the birth mother of Leanne Barlow (Jane Danson), reports have claimed. The character who will be seen coming to the cobbles in June with her husband Karl (John Michie) and daughter Eva (Katherine Tyldesley) who is played by legendary Eastenders actress Michelle Collins will cause shocks in Weatherfield after we find out that she is actually Leanne's mother.

According to the Daily Mirror, Stella who is going to be the bar manager of the Rovers Return will be revealed as the mother Leanne never saw since she was a child and shockingly now has another daughter with her husband Karl. The paper reports that bosses behind the ITV soap which is set in Manchester have been planning the storyline for quite a few months and that it will be the biggest plot of the year as we wonder how Leanne will react to finding out that her mother who abandoned her and her father now lives across the street.

However it seems that the secret won't come spilling out for quite a while as Stella is set to save her daughter from armed robbers when they try to steal from the betting shop owned by Leanne's husband Peter Barlow. Apparently, the shocking twist was what was used to lure Collins into the role as a source has said that she was ''gobsmacked'' when she was told what bosses had planned for the character and immediately signed up for the role.

The source told the paper: ''This was genius by the bosses. And it makes for a massive future for Michelle in the show. There has been a lot of cloak and dagger involved in the arrival for Stella.'' Although the soap have yet again refused to comment on future storylines, they have previously teased that Stella is hiding a ''dark secret'' that will have ''major consequences for the other residents''. Should the reports be true, Stella will definitely have a lot to answer to and we may have a little glimpse into Leanne's past.
