Chesney Brown will get stabbed in a new Coronation Street storyline, it's been revealed.
He'll be left for dead after a botched burglary at The Bistro, reports The Sun newspaper.
Viewers will see a bleeding Chesney, played by played by Sam Aston, fighting for his life as it's left in doubt whether or not he survives the confrontation.
“A gang of thugs try to rob the Bistro," a source explained, “They smash up the place and then Chesney gets in the way."
They continued: "One stabs him in the neck with a broken bottle. Michelle is seen screaming while Daniel and Adam rush to Chesney’s side, trying to keep him awake.
“But he is slipping in and out of consciousness. And the big cliff-hanger will be whether he survives the attack or not."
The storyline is due to air later this year on the ITV soap, which is gearing up for a week of dramatic episodes alongside the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals from Monday night.
Corrie will be airing at 9PM each night with a trailer for the upcoming episodes teasing a "life changing week".
"Bethany is being exploited by Nathan, and stalked by her mum. Who will the young woman choose?" ITV ask.
