Michael McIntyre's Big Christmas Show was the most watched programme on Christmas Eve, according to overnight ratings.
The special episode was watched by 5.6 million viewers on what was an overall rather low night for viewing figures.
The channel secured four of the top five programmes on the night, with Peter Kay's Christmas Comedy Shuffle securing a strong audience of 3.7 million in the late night 10PM slot.
Over on ITV, a revival of Blankety Blank for Christmas, hosted by David Walliams, had 3.4 million viewers, Coronation Street dipped to 4.8 million, Birds of a Feather had 3.4 million and Granchester had 3.7 million.
The two main channels faced some stiff competition from the smaller broadcasters, with Channel 4's showing of We're Going on a Bear Hunt attracting 3 million viewers between 7:30PM and 8PM. A Gogglesprogs Christmas Special had 1.9 million and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown at Christmas was watched by 1.7 million.
BBC Two's showcasing of The Lady in the Van was the most watched film of the day with 3.5 million viewers at 9PM. Penguins of Madagascar was seen by 3.2 million in the afternoon on BBC One while Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone had 2.8 million on ITV.
