Neighbours actress Janet Andrewartha has confirmed her departure from the Australian soap after the most recent two year stint as former hairdresser and café owner Lyn Scully.
The actress who first debuted on screens in 1999 with several guest stints since then, reappeared on screens in 2009 originally set for yet again, another guest role however after positive feedback, Lyn remained on screens permanently.
Lyn will depart our screens within the next few months and although her departure is being kept under wraps, the upcoming return of everyone's favourite patriarch Harold Bishop (Ian Smith) may just have something to do with it.
Talking about her exit to TV Week, Andrewatha commented: ''I originally came back in a guest role and ended up staying almost two years, so the extra time has been a bonus. It's been tremendous fun and I'll miss it, but it's time to try some new things. At the moment I'm looking at some projects that I'm very excited about, which may take me interstate or overseas.''
The latest departure is sure to come as a blow to the soap opera following the recent departure of long term cast member and Janet's on-screen daughter Carla Bonner who played Steph Scully as well as a number of other departures such as Rebecca Robinson (Jane Hall), Declan Napier (Erin Mullaney) and Donna Freedman (Margot Robbie).
