Home And Away actress Tessa James has confirmed her departure from the Australian soap after more than three years in her role as pretty hell-raiser Nicole Franklin. She joined in 2008 when Nicole came to Summer Bay looking for her dad Roman (Conrad Coleby).
The pretty blonde actress has already filmed her final scenes for the show which airs over here on Channel Five. Franklin's decision to leave the show comes as she plans to move over to Los Angeles and audition for roles over there. She hopes to follow in the footsteps of household names like Isla Fisher and Simon Baker who have both made it in the US.
Speaking to New Ideas about her departure, Tessa said: ''I was at Home And Away for three-and-a-half years, so it's good to be finished and get to be who I am, and do what I've wanted to do for so long.'' Tessa also told the magazine that she has thoroughly enjoyed her time on the soap and has made many friends there.
Continuing on, she said: ''It's an exciting new future but, ultimately, it's nice to have that person to support you. I know Nate will always be here for me.''
Tessa has other reasons to celebrate as she recently confirmed her engagement to rugby league player Nate Myles after a ten month relationship. The latest departure is sure to come as a blow to the show as Luke Jacobz (Angelo Rosetta) also recently confirmed his departure from the show.
Are you sad to see Nicole go? Do you support Tessa's decision and think she will be a success in America or do you think she should stay at the show?
