Liz Mc Donald will depart Coronation Street in a similar fashion to Corrie legend Bet Lynch who departed the cobbles in 1995 leaving the keys to the Rovers on the bar and departing Weatherfield for a new life in Spain.
According to The Sun, the poignant scenes will see the popular landlady do her final shift at the pub before she marches out of her beloved Rovers Return, turning off the lights behind her and waving goodbye to the Manchester town as she sets off for a new life abroad.
The emotional scenes follow an upcoming storyline which Tellymix reported on last month which sees Liz's ex-husband Jim Mc Donald (Charles Lawson) stage an armed robbery at the building society in Weatherfield as part of a last ditch attempt to win Liz back by buying her beloved pub off son Steve Mc Donald (Simon Gregson).
However his plan goes awry and according to reports, ex-con Jim is sent down for 20 years leading Liz to take the jump and leave for Spain heartbroken despite promising Jim that she would wait for him.
Beverly Callard who plays the barmaid announced her plans to leave in October and viewers will see Liz leave in a tribute to iconic Bet (Julie Goodyear) next month. Are you sad to see her go? Was it the time and do you remember Bet's brilliant exit 15 years ago?
