Eastenders to have shocking roof collapse storyline in April

BBC soap Eastenders is set to air a shocking roof collapse next month as the roof of The Masood Family's restuarant Arjee Bhajee comes crashing down! In a twist, the awful event will happen on the night of Tamwar Masood (Himesh Patel)'s engagement party to Afia Khan (Meryl Fernandes) putting the lives of many characters at risk.

What happens next, however, is something that is being kept a closely guarded secret. And despite the estrangement from his family, it is understood that Syed Masood (Marc Elliot) will be one of the characters who sustains injuries in the stunt.

A source for the popular continuing drama told showbiz and entertainment website Digital Spy: ''These dramatic scenes were filmed a couple of weeks ago and will air in early April, providing some big drama for the Masoods on what should have been a happy day for Tamwar.''

''Despite the ill-feeling between and his parents, Syed is in the building where the disastrous party takes place. But what the accident could mean for the family fued remains to be seen.'' The accident comes about following the building work done by Greg Jessop (Stefan Booth) in January.

The last-minute repair work done by Greg saved the day for the Masoods who were able to open the restaurant in time. However despite Greg telling them that it would need new roof beams, the family were plagued by money problems leading to the accident.

The scenes will air leading to some dramatic scenes between Syed's partner Christian Clarke (John Partridge) and his parents Masood (Nitin Ganatra) and Zainab (Nina Wadia), will the scars of their past be healed or further damaged? Are you looking forward to April?
