Eastenders actress Glynis Barber has become the latest cast member to announce her departure from the highly popular BBC soap. The veteran actress who stars as cougar Glenda Mitchell has already filmed her departure from the Square as Glenda alienates all those around us before making her exit.
Writing on her official website, Barber said that Glenda will find herself losing any friends she had left due to her increasingly reckless behaviour prompting her to make a decision and leave Albert Square behind saying goodbye to her daughters Ronnie (Samantha Womack) and Roxy (Rita Simons).
This latest announcement follows the statement issued last month that her screen-daughter Ronnie Mitchell would temporarily leave Walford following the controversial baby-swap storyline. In addition, Tellymix reported just yesterday that Sid Owen would be leaving his role as Ricky Butcher for a short time.
Speaking of her decision, Glynis who first appeared on our screens as Glenda in January 2010 commented: ''2010 was a busy and exciting year for me playing Glenda Mitchell in Eastenders. After Glenda manages to alienate practically everyone on Albert Square, she makes her exit in March 2011.
Are you sad to see her go? Do you think there's still room for minxy Glenda or are you glad to see her go? Comment here!
