James Sutton confirms departure from Emmerdale later this year

JSEmmerdale actor James Sutton has confirmed his departure from the ITV soap. The actor who played John Paul Mc Queen in C4 soap Hollyoaks before his role as mechanic Ryan Lamb in Emmerdale has decided to move on to new projects after two years in the role.

In a statement on Emmerdale's website, Sutton said: ''I've massively enjoyed the last two years playing Ryan and been blessed to have worked with a group of such talented and supportive actors.''

Sutton added: ''I feel that Ryan's storylines have drawn to a natural conclusion and, although I'll be sad to say goodbye,  I'm excited about what the future holds. Having trained in theatre I'm looking forward to going back to my roots and exploring new opportunities.''

Commenting on the exit, recently assigned executive producer Steve November said: ''James has been a much valued member of the cast and we wish him all the best for the future.''

James' announcement comes on the back of Kim Thomson's decision to leave the role of Ryan's mother Faye as reported by Tellymix last month. So there you go, my hunch was right and Ryan is leaving as well. Will you be sad to see James go or do you agree that Ryan has run his course?
