'Eastenders' character Arthur ''Fatboy'' Chubb's father is winging his way to Walford in 2011. The popular character who has been nominated for an NTA will be joined by his dad later in 2011.
The character who is currently being cast by the bosses at the BBC Soap will be called Ashley and will be joining his son when his personal life starts to get complicated. The character of Fatboy who first debuted on screens in January 2010 after appearing in spin-off 'Eastenders:E20'' has become a fan favourite in recent months.
Speaking of the new character, a BBC spokesperson said: ''We are currently casting for Fatboy's dad Ashley Chubb, who will appear on screen in spring.''
An insider added: ''Fatboys has been a real hit with viewers and the bosses have decided that it's time to bring in his dad so viewers can see what Fatboy's all about.''
Ashley will come to Walford as he faces problems in his personal life so he seeks refuge with his son. It's not known yet how Fatboy will react to his father or what sort of relationship they have.
