Stars of the soap Eastenders have reportedly been offered counselling after filming a dramatic and upsetting cot death storyline. According to The Sun, filming of the episode had to be stopped when members of cast - such as Samantha Womack - were reduced to tears by the scenes.
A source told the tabloid: "Most of the crew have never shot anything quite so sensitive.
"Filming stopped for over an hour as people found it hard to continue without breaking down. It will certainly be very strong viewing."
The storyline, due to air on New Year's Day, will see Ronnie Mitchell - played by Samantha - wrap up her lifeless baby and rush to seek help at the pub. Instead, she hears Kat's tot crying upstairs and in her grief switches it with hers, before disappearing into the night.
The storyline is just one of this year's festive plots which also sees the exit of Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
