Wadia, best known for her role as fiery Zainab Masood will play the role of neurosurgeon Annabelle Cooper for five episodes of the BBC medical drama series later this year.
Appearing on ITV's This Morning yesterday (Tuesday 4 February), Wadia confirmed that she has just started filming for the show.
Revealing that she has been struggling with the complex medical jargon, she quipped: ''It's like another language. It literally is like learning Japanese. I had to do this take, walking down the corridor with Corrie legend John Michie - who by the way is the naughtiest guy, as is Camilla who plays his daughter!''
''We had to do this long, trekking walk and I had to say this stuff about astrocytomas and monoclonal antibodies. I got all the way to the end and just missed the last phrase of the sentence and said, 'No, I have to do it again!'', she added.
"It's hugely difficult. I keep saying, 'Why did they cast me for a neurosurgeon?''
The actress will make her first appearance on the show in April. She is also now part of the cast of Still Open All Hours and is due to start shooting for a new film Strangeways, Here We Come which is being produced by her own film company.
