Charlie Slater is being lined up for another return to BBC1 soap EastEnders, it has been revealed.
The cabbie, played by Derek Martin will allegedly be returning to screens in the new year as part of a new storyline.
The actor told the Daily Star: ''In December and January, I am going back to make a couple of episodes. I don't know what the storyline is but I am booked."
A spokesperson for the soap opera confirmed the possibility of a future return for Charlie but insisted that plans are not finalised yet.
''It hasn't been confirmed if Derek will be returning, as it is still a little while off yet as we are still at the planning stages," the spokesperson said.
Charlie last appeared on screens in December 2013 when he visited his daughter Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) over Christmas. He previously appeared as a regular on the TV soap between 2000 and early 2011.
