Emmerdale have unveiled the new family set to take over Home Farm later this year...and there are a few familiar faces.
Newcomer Lawrence White will purchase the estate after it is put up for sale later this month following the departure of former owner Declan Macey (Jason Merrells).
We have already met Lawrence who had an affair with Edna Birch's (Shirley Stelfox's) husband many years ago after the two came face to face again recently.
Lawrence is played by former Coronation Street actor John Bowe. He will be joined by his daughter Chrissie, played by actress Louise Marwood. Coincidentally, Chrissie is currently engaged to Robert Sugden who is set to return to the village, played by new actor Ryan Hawley.
They will also be joined by Chrissie's teenage son Lachlan, played by young actor Thomas Atkinson and a dog creatively named....Dog.
The storyline will begin in a few weeks when Nicola holds an open day for prospective buyers of Home Farm but when she meets Chrissie, and mistakenly believes that she's a timewaster, Nicola's rude behaviour soon comes back to bite her as she's shocked to see Robert joining his partner to look around the house.
Wealthy Lawrence soon joins the pair in looking around the house, keen to settle down somewhere in the area and as he sees how uncomfortable Robert seems being in the village, he puts in an offer for the estate, seemingly determined to put a spanner in his daughter's relationship with Robert.
Emmerdale's producer Kate Oates commented: ''Home Farm has always been the seat of power in Emmerdale. In Lawrence, we have a family man with serious status and a complex history. Robert's going to have to prove himself worthy - not just of the big house on the hill, but of Lawrence's daughter Chrissie. But will the ghosts of his past hold him back?"
Meanwhile, John Bowe who plays patriarch Lawrence says: ''am delighted to be joining the cast of Emmerdale and having already recorded scenes involving Edna's long forgotten past, it is now fantastic to have been given the keys to Home Farm. I can't wait to stir things up."
