EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood has been suspended from the soap opera after being allegedly caught smoking cannabis in online footage.
Show bosses reportedly revealed their decision to the actor in a meeting held today (April 1) after the rumours were published in the newspapers over the weekend.
A spokesperson for EastEnders said: ''Ricky Norwood has been suspended from the show for a period of two months with immediate effect. In addition, Ricky would like to apologise to EastEnders' viewers for any offence caused and for bringing the show into disrepute."
Norwood's behaviour hit the headlines over the weekend after details emerged of a video on Skype which saw the actor, best known for his role as Arthur 'Fat Boy' Chubb performing a sex act and smoking cannabis.
The video was reportedly recorded and filmed by a 28-year-old women.
