Hollyoaks executive producer Bryan Kirkwood has reinstated the role of series producer on the C4 soap, having previously solely overseen production of the series in the past 12 months.
Iain MacLeod and Emily Gascoyne have been appointed as joint series producers, having already been part of the show's creative team. Their first credited episode airs this evening on Channel 4 at 6:30pm. Gascoyne's previous role on the show was in the role of story producer whilst MacLeod was series editor.
Gascoyne has also previously worked on rival soaps Eastenders and Emmerdale where she served as story producer. Speaking about the new producers, Bryan Kirkwood commented: ''Over the past year Hollyoaks has seen a sustained increase in ratings, reflecting the strength of the story and production teams. Emily and Iain's promotions further secure a long-term commitment to maintain the consistency that fans of the show can now expect."
Kirkwood will be staying on the show in the role of Executive Producer but it is understood will serve less of a day to day role in the production of the soap.
