ITV has released first-look images for I Fought The Law, a gripping new four-part drama starring Sheridan Smith.
Smith plays Ann Ming, a mother whose fight for justice changed British legal history.
The series tells the real-life story of Ann’s 15-year campaign to overturn the Double Jeopardy Law after her daughter’s killer was wrongfully acquitted.
Refusing to accept the verdict, Ann pushed back against the entire justice system, from police and prosecutors to the government, to make sure her daughter’s murderer would be retried and convicted.
The drama also stars Daniel York Loh as Ann’s husband Charlie and Enzo Cilenti as DS Mark Braithwaite.
The series will premiere this autumn on ITV and ITVX.

Alongside the drama, ITV will also release a new documentary I Fought The Law: The Ann Ming Story, narrated by Sheridan Smith.
The documentary will offer a detailed look into the case, featuring rare archive footage and interviews with Ann, her family and others connected to the investigation.
