Host Dermot O'Leary and judge Gary Barlow have also praised the usually weak category, which this year has seen its age limit raised from 25 to 28.
Olly said this week: "I haven’t seen any auditions yet as I’ve been on tour and I won’t be back until the Live Shows, but if there was one category I would root for it would be the ‘Overs’ as that’s the category I was picked in three years ago."
He added: "I haven’t heard about anyone specific but I’ve been speaking to Caroline and the producers to check how it’s all going and I’ve been told there is some amazing talent already! I can’t wait to meet the finalists and get to know them....I’ve got some catching up to do!"
Fortunately for Caroline, she wasn't left alone during the auditions, with a range of stars including JLS and Jedward stepping in to help her out!
Meanwhile Olly, who finished as runner up on the show back in 2009, offered his tips to this year's wannabes.
He said: "I tell them to not get distracted by everything else that is going on each week - parties’, freebies or anything too showbiz. None of that matters unless you put in a good performance each weekend. If they want it badly then they need to be focused and driven week in, week out!"
