Pop Idol's Hayley Evetts has auditioned for The X Factor 2012, it has been revealed.
According to the Daily Star today, the 36-year-old has made it through to bootcamp after impressing the judges at her audition earlier this year.
Hayley had tried to break out in some of the early reality shows, including Pop Idol and Popstars.
The singer made it as far as the final five of Pop Idol in 2001, along with stars including Will Young, Gareth Gates and Darius Danesh.
Despite going on to some success in musical theatre - including the leading role of Sandy in Grease in the West End - this year has seen Hayley returned for another attempt at chart success.
The newspaper reveals other stars back this year include Jade Richards and [tag]Melanie McCabe[/tag], who both narrowly missed out on the live shows last year.
Sian Phillips, Joe Cox and [tag]Carolynne Poole[/tag] are also making comebacks.
In 2008, Alexandra Burke returned after being axed by Louis Walsh in 2005 and went on to win the show on her second attempt.
The X Factor 2012 airs on ITV1 from Saturday night.
