New X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger has been gushing over fellow female on the panel Tulisa, branding her "confident" and "clever".
There have been rumours of a rivalry between the duo, but the two popstars have been nothing but complimentary abut one another in the run up to the launch of the new series next weekend.
“Tulisa is always the first to speak on the panel and I admire that," Nicole said this week. "She talks sense, too. She doesn’t say half the cheesy stupid stuff I say."
Nicole, a former judge on the X Factor in the USA, replaced Kelly Rowland on the panel this year after a series of potential new judges appeared at auditions.
Bosses had originally hoped for Dannii Minogue to return, before also offering Anastacia the job, but eventually signed Nicole.
Speaking about her new panelists, Nicole told The Sun: "When I met Tulisa I thought she was beautiful, confident and clever. I was astounded to learn she’d dropped out of school but she’s intelligent in her own way.”
And she claimed that the UK show was very different to the US version, which launches only its second series next month.
“The UK show’s strength is its rawness," Nicole added.
