There's plenty of pluses to being in One Direction, but one big downside is losing your hearing!
One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has revealed how he's gone slightly deaf in one ear due to all the high pitched screaming from fans.
“I am going slightly deaf in my right ear. It’s tinnitus... something like that," he told the Daily Mirror today. “All our fans are always very loud, especially Scousers.”
The newspaper reports that Louis has been warned about spending time in loud environments over fears the damage could get worse.
“Screams during gigs have started affecting the boys on stage," a source told the tabloid. “They are only young and still developing, so management insist they wear hi-tech earpieces and filters to reduce the volume of the screaming and the music.
“When Louis made his comments he had really bad earache. Thankfully, this has now cleared up but he knows to be careful in future.
“When watching them, even the band’s security team and family have to wear earplugs, too.”
The screams are only sure to get worse for the group as they continue to conquer the world's charts.
The group this week picked up two nominations at the MTV's VMAs, and will also perform at the US awards bash later in the year.
As well as that, the boys are set to release a new album in the autumn ahead of their UK Arena tour in January.
