The X Factor helped Geri Halliwell get over the end of her recent relationship, friends of the Spice Girl singer have claimed.
Geri joined Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Louis Walsh at the start of auditions back in Liverpool in May, where she was said to be on a 'trial run' to become a full-time judge.
While that didn't work out well, pals say that the show did provide the perfect distraction for Geri after her break up from Henry Beckwith.
"Geri's saying 'The X Factor' is healing her heartache," a source claimed. "She's been so upset by the break-up. The show has come along at the perfect time to distract her.
"I think he's the one guy who really understood Geri. Yes they argued but there was also a lot of love. He was great with her six-year-old daughter Bluebell."
Speaking to The List, the supposed pal also claimed that Geri wasn't too worried about not getting the job full time.
They added to the website: "Despite others being linked to the role of permanent judge, Geri's determined to make the most of her time.
"She wants to do something amazing before she turns 40 in August and has joked that panellist Gary Barlow can set her up with one of his mates."
