Nicole Scherzinger is set to become The X Factor 2012's new fourth judge, with bosses reportedly offering her a £500,000 deal.

Despite getting the axe from the US series, producers here the UK have been impressed by the Pussycat Doll singer.

Insiders have claimed that there's been clashes behind the scenes over who to sign, with [tag]Simon Cowell[/tag] not convinced by Nicole while ITV are keen to get her on the panel full time.

Nicole appeared as a guest judge earlier this week as the auditions hit London, and now X Factor chiefs want the sexy singer to join Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa permanently.

And the offer comes with an impressive £500,000 fee, more than is usually offered to X Factor judges in their first year.

“We are talking to Nicole about taking on the job full time. She is the only person in the frame," a source said today. “It’s now down to money and whether she can commit to the show, which takes up most of the rest of the year."

Speaking to The Sun, the insider added: “She has given us positive signs. But no one is counting their chickens after what happened with Dannii Minogue.”
