An East London fish seller is set to sing for The X Factor 2012 judges after becoming an internet sensation.
Muhammad Shahid Nazir works on a fish stall and became a YouTube hit after customers filmed his fish-selling tune "One Pound Fish".
London24 now report that Muhammad is in talks to release the song as a single as well as auditioning for The X Factor this year.
“I feel very good and can’t believe everyone is singing the song,” he told the newspaper. “It’s become famous.
“People want my autograph and they take photographs as well as make videos of me.”
Speaking to the BBC, he added: “My mother prays for me and encourages me to pursue my dream of becoming a singer. Singing has always been my childhood hobby and I want to make a career out of it."
The song has not only been a hit with locals, but has also caught the attention of celebrities, with [cat]Britain's Got Talent[/tag] judge [tag]Alesha Dixon[/tag] even doing her own cover of the track on Radio 1Xtra.
