Cheryl Cole has described X Factor boss Simon Cowell as a "frenemy" after her axe from The X Factor USA.
Speaking on Radio 1 this morning, Cheryl was coy over her relationship with Simon, but insisted that most of what was written by the papers was rubbish.
“We’re friends," she told the Chris Moyles show. "Well, frenemies."
She revealed: "No, I didn’t get a call [when I was axed]. But I have spoken to him since many times. Were they interesting conversations? Definitely. Extremely interesting.
"But I haven’t thought about working with Simon again.
"I’ve enjoyed this past year making this record and am glad I’ve had the time to do that.”
The singer also revealed she and the rest of Girls Aloud had been together as a five piece "recently", teasing: “It’s our 10 birthday in November – we all want to do something to cerebrate that so watch out.
"As women we needed this space to grow as people – but it’s been almost three years. We’re active as Girls Aloud, so watch out.”
Cheryl was on the radio to promote her new single, Call My Name, which is out in June.
