Cheryl Cole feels "totally betrayed" by Simon Cowell's affair claims

Cheryl Cole reportedly feels "totally betrayed" after details of her relationship with Simon Cowell were revealed in a new book.

The new, apparently unauthorised, biography of the music mogul makes claims about Cheryl's time on The X Factor UK and in the US.

It suggests that Simon wanted to sleep with Cheryl, while she played the victim to get what she wanted.

The book also reveals how Simon confronted Cheryl on The X Factor USA after the first auditions in LA, saying she needed up her game or be fired.

Simon supposedly made the decision to axe Cheryl from the US show whilst flying to the UK, and invited her to return to the British show last year.

But while Cheryl did originally accept the £2 million offer, it was on the condition that her axing from the US show would not be made public.

When news broke in US media, Cheryl refused to return and refused to speak to Simon.

“Cheryl is disappointed and angry at what he has said and can’t understand why he has done it. Their relationship was not in a great place anyway," a source told the Daily Mirror today. "This just makes things worse and virtually rules out any chance of them working together ever again.”

Meanwhile a source close to Simon warned that Cheryl was just the latest "toy" for Simon.

“He works out how they can suit his needs," the supposed insider tells the newspaper. “It was the same with Dannii, Cheryl and now it is the same with Alesha. She is his latest toy.

“Simon wanted her because he knew the BBC wanted her – now he is going to play with her.”
