Kara Tointon ruled out of Strictly Come Dancing 2012 judging role
X Factor boss Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to promote Xtra Factor hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs next year.
The music mogul wants a male and female duo to present the show, and it looks like Dermot O'Leary could be on his way out.
While the hunky host will be back this year, he could be axed next summer in favour of Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, the Daily Mail reports.
Simon has made no secret about wanting a duo to front the show, admitting this year: "“I always wanted a boy and a girl to host the X Factor."
The Syco chief previously confirmed that The X Factor USA would also see a dual host line up, after Brit Steve Jones was axed after just one season.
Both Caroline and Olly will be back on ITV2 this year, fronting spin-off the Xtra Factor.
Caroline will cover the auditions, while Olly - who will be on tour with One Direction over the summer - will join her for the live shows.
The X Factor 2012 returns to screens in August.
