X Factor host Dermot O'Leary has said he's "thrilled" for One Direction's success across the globe.
The Brit boys, who finished third in the competition back in 2010, are currently performing a sell out tour in Australia, ahead of another tour of the States in the summer.
“[They've had] unbelievable success and I’m thrilled for them!" Dermot said at the recent X Factor auditions.
And the hunky X Factor host revealed he was still in touch with the group.
"I think they’re all quit weirded out isn’t the right word because it’s what they wanted but I think even they are shocked by how well it’s going. I’m so happy for them.”
Dermot also admitted that last year's X Factor winners Little Mix were one of his favourite acts.
He told STV: "It was brilliant to see a band win and I know they were put together by Tulisa, but I thought they really embraced it and they took it seriously.”
Dermot will be back fronting The X Factor 2012 when it returns to TV in the summer.
