X Factor host Dermot O'Leary has praised the "great" judges on The Voice UK, saying he really enjoyed watching the show at the weekend.
In news that could displease boss Simon Cowell, Dermot told the Press Association this week that he snubbed Britain's Got Talent for The Voice on Saturday night.
"I watched The Voice first out of curiosity and I really enjoyed it," Dermot said.
The hunky X Factor presenter continued, using the dreaded J-word that the Voice UK coaches dread to hear: "I thought the judges were great. Tom Jones was a brilliant judge especially and Jessie J as well."
Dermot welcomed the competition, saying that it made sure both ITV and BBC would work hard to compete.
He added: "I think it's good for us to have competition. We can't sit on our laurels. We've got to work hard.
"Last year we had the challenge of American X Factor and we met that head on and this year we've got The Voice. You don't want to be arrogant or complacent."
Dermot continues with auditions on The X Factor 2012 this weekend in Glasgow.
