Sharon Osbourne admits leaving The X Factor was a "dumb" move

Former X Factor UK judge Sharon Osbourne has said that her decision to leave the show in 2008 was " dumb" move for her career.

The showbiz star left the series after numerous rows with then new judge Dannii Minogue.

"It was a dumb move, but emotionally right," Sharon said this week. "It was a huge show, it paid so well, so much came from it. But I wasn't happy, so I walked away with dignity."

Sharon however insisted she was happy that she was never fired from the series.

She added "Simon (Cowell) always ends up firing someone.

"I didn't want to give him the satisfaction. He always wants someone young and perky-t*tted sat next to him."

The 59-year-old, married to rocker Ozzy Osbourne, also revealed that Simon banned her from coming back, despite ITV wanting her to return.

Sharon said: "Simon wouldn't let them and I don't give a sh*t because I can go, f*ck you."

Cheryl Cole, who quit in 2011, replaced Sharon on The X Factor in 2008.
