Caroline Flack has spoken out about her relationship with One Direction star Harry Styles for the first time, saying she learned a "difficult lesson" after the media scrutiny surrounding their three month fling.
The pair hooked up last year, when Caroline was hosting the Xtra Factor, but brok up at the end of January this year.
Despite the short relationship, Caroline and Harry's romance managed to cover the newspaper front pages week after week, something which Caroline admits was hard to cope with.
"Everyone had an opinion on me and Harry, which was the hardest thing," she tells The People today.
32-year-old Caroline went on: "I suppose they're entitled to their opinions but it was really I tough. I learned the hard way. I learned a very difficult lesson but I suppose looking forward it isn't a bad lesson to learn, is it?"
"In future the easiest thing is that I keep it to myself. I can't believe how much attention there was on me."
Caroline, who is expected to return with co-host Olly Murs in the summer on the Xtra Factor, revealed: "I've been in Africa for a month with friends and it has been incredible to get away.
"We were helping people in the villages so it was a great experience."
