Simon Cowell could return to The X Factor as a fifth for the live shows, his pal Sinitta has claimed.
Simon confirmed earlier in week that he definitely wouldn't be back as a permanent member of the show's panel, but Sinitta reckons he could make a guest appearance.
She is quoted by Closer magazine as saying this week: "Simon plans to be back, along with last year's judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh."
However the 'So Macho' star added: "But he won't be able to return full time because he's so busy."
Speaking on the Jonathan Ross show this evening, Simon said he misses the show but would be unable to return due to his commitments on the American version which airs at the same time.
But Sinitta insisted that Simon would do anything to get back to beating Strictly Come Dancing in the ratings once again.
She told the magazine: "He likes winning, so he's set on beating Strictly in the ratings."
The X Factor 2012 auditions continue on Monday in Wales.
