Tulisa's sex tape 'not a publicity stunt' (insists her spokesperson)

A spokesperson for X Factor judge Tulisa has denied that the leaking of her sex tape earlier this week was a publicity stunt.

A six-minute clip featuring the singer was posted online on Monday, and it quickly circulated on the internet, ultimately forcing Tulisa to speak out.

In a vlog posted on her YouTube page, Tulisa said she was "heartbroken" and "betrayed" by the ex-boyfriend who sold the tape.

But after Tulisa revealed new song We Are Young yesterday, many began to speculate that the whole thing was just a publicity stunt.

The apt track, the first solo single from the N-Dubz star, begins with the lines "Forgive us for what we have done, ‘cause we’re young"

A spokesperson for Tulisa however insisted today: “It is absolutely ludicrous for people to suggest the tape was a publicity stunt."

He explained to the Daily Star: "The song was recorded last year and the video filmed last month. It is complete insanity to say she leaked the sex tape herself.

“She has put her heart and soul into her solo career. Why should she have to delay her music release when she has done nothing wrong?”

Meanwhile a source close to the singer told the tabloid that the video had made Tulisa's life "hell", leaving her "distraught".

"The release of her single has really lifted her spirits," the insider claimed. “The response from music fans has been incredibly positive and she will not let her ex’s attempts to bring her down influence her decision-making.

“Delaying the music and video release was not an option. She refuses to lay low as that will make [ex-boyfriend]] Justin feel as though he’s ‘won’.”
