X Factor host Dermot O'Leary has said he wants to see Kelly Rowland, Tulisa, Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow all back on the panel this year.
Dermot, who has already signed up to front the new series, insisted that "continuity is important", and suggested that last year's late auditions were to blame for poor chemistry between the judges.
He said: "It’s not my decision but I’d like to see them all come back.
“Continuity is important. It is like a new Premier League footballer – you have to give them time to bed in."
The hunky telly presenter blamed delays on the last series for not giving the panel a chance to bond.
The series had to be rescheduled, with judges and presenters only being signed days before auditions began.
“Last year the judges were signed so late they hardly had time to bond," Dermot said. "Then we chucked them all into the audition process and everyone thought it went well, certainly early on.
“People should survive by their merit and it was a good show last year so people should be given another chance.”
Auditions for The X Factor 2012 continue on Monday in Wales.
