X Factor boss Simon Cowell has confirmed that he will not be making a return to the UK show this year.
Despite previously admitting to missing the show, and even looking at moving the series to allow him to join the panel again, he revealed this week he would not be back.
It's expected that Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa and Louis Walsh will be invited back this year, with Simon previously saying that his "gut feeling" was to leave the panel unchanged.
Auditions for The X Factor 2012 meanwhile continue this Monday in Cardiff, Wales, before moving to Glasgow and London next month.
So far thousands have tried out for the new series, with more groups than ever applying and making it through to the next round after the success of Little Mix and One Direction in previous years.
This year's series is also expected to see two major format changes, with acts who already have management deals free to audition and performers being encouraged to perform their own material.
Auditions in front of the judges will take place in the summer, while the show will be back on ITV1 in August after the Olympics.
