X Factor runner up Marcus Collins has secured a top 10 debut album with his self-titled record.
Marcus charted at number seven in today's charts, the lowest debut for an X Factor runner up.
The cheeky singer revealed he had even been buying copies of his own record to boost its position, telling the Daily Star today: "I’ve just bought four copies. Well they say charity begins at home.
“The guy on the cash desk just looked at me like I was a total freak.”
But the Liverpudlian star’s dirty tactics didn’t stop there, he went on: “I’m in HMV right now covering up The Military Wives shelf with my album.
“It’s so embarrassing. I just knocked all my records on the floor by accident so now I’m replacing all the other albums.”
Meanwhile former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke charted at number three in the singles chart with her latest single Elephant.
She tweeted this evening: "#Elephant charted at #3. Thank u all so much4 ur support! I can only thank my Fans!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy. Thank u for making me so happy"
