Kelly Rowland has reportedly joined Gary Barlow in signing a new deal for The X Factor UK, with the Destiny’s Child songstress all set for auditions in May.
Star magazine report this month that, despite rumours to the contrary, the show's production team were pleased with Kelly's performance on the show last year.
And it's unlikely that bosses were displeased by the huge press attention her antics gave the show, from missing live finals to backstage bust-ups with the other judges and even her own acts.
The magazine claims that, while Simon was looking at moving the US singer to the American version of the show, ITV have been keen to keep Kelly on the panel.
"Simon was considering moving Kelly to the US X Factor. He thought she would be more comfortable there and the American audience would 'get her' more," a source told the publication. "But ITV were keen to hang on to her.
“They both agreed it would be unsettling to change the panel again."
The supposed insider continued: "People presumed because of the arguments that Kelly is not coming back, but that it wrong.
"Simon Cowell and the producers were very pleased with her last year, Kelly is still very much in the mix and set to meet producers and sort out a new deal."
X Factor boss Simon Cowell said his "gut feeling" was to keep last year's panel the same, despite a dip in the show's ratings.
It was reported last week that Gary Barlow had already penned a deal which will see him back, while Louis Walsh and Tulisa are also understood to be negotiating their contracts.
Host Dermot O'Leary is already back, having started filming at the open auditions last month.
