Gary Barlow will return to The X Factor 2012 UK as a judge, it has been revealed this morning.
The 41-year-old Take That singer agreed a new deal to return to the X Factor UK panel during negotiations this week with ITV and X Factor boss Simon Cowell.
Gary confirmed last month he was in talks for a second series, but refused to comment on how they were going.
It's understood that the singer, who will have a hectic schedule this summer having taken on other musical commitments for the Olympics and Diamond Jubilee, could be getting as much as £2 million for the new series.
And as well as a busy time working, Gary will also be welcoming a fourth child into his family when auditions take place in the summer.
A source told the newspaper this morning: "Everyone was delighted Gary agreed to come back for another series of X Factor. There's no ink on the contract, but he's good for his word.
"He was being a bit sheepish about his decision though because the diary has kicked up some problems.
"Gary has promised he'll be present for the birth, but Simon Cowell is a tough task master. It could be very tricky."
Speaking at the end of last series in December, Gary admitted that the show had been tough, and he couldn't wait for it to finish.
"There have been some horrible weeks and it has been hard work. It is the constant, the bubble we are in," he said at the final press conference before the final. "This show doesn't end on a Sunday night, it follows you around all week long.
"Everyone has got an opinion, you can never say the right thing. It is one of those shows under scrutiny and when you are in the middle of it all, it is quite tough.”
He added: "The great thing for me is I have got an act in the final, but in another way I am really looking forward to Monday morning."
Simon previously said his "gut feeling" was to keep the entire panel from last year, despite a significant dip in ratings after they took over from the show last year.
Auditions for The X Factor 2012 continue this weekend in Manchester, before moving to Glasgow, Cardiff and London over the next month.
The show will return to ITV1 in the summer.
